Newlywed Home Tour: Sunroom

In our sunroom, we took advantage of the one wall without windows to add a few touches and splash of color to tie everything into the room.

Note: Here is a "BEFORE" of what we had to work with:

Sometimes decorating can be as easy (and cost-effective) as repurposing the items you already have by looking around your home to to see what pieces could be relocated. A little creativity and rearranging is all you need! I'm sure decor items appreciate a change of scenery every once in awhile too. :)

This was the case with our ladder shelf (shown below). After looking around our home and in our remaining wedding decor bin, I was able to fully decorate this shelf just by repurposing and relocating a few items to make this shelf look complete. The items found new life in their new home while giving the room a new look as well. The only extra purchase I made was for the hooks to hang the ladder shelf.

The spare flowers were leftover from decorating the office. The flower pot was originally on our patio, the vases were from our wedding, the "S" and teal glass vase were just waiting for a home, and the other items were scattered around our home. I even used two old finials to prop up the "&" and the "S" to give them a little height. I'll do my best to remember where most of these items came from originally:

hanging ladder shelf: Hobby Lobby

vases & decor: HomeGoods

"&" wooden letter: HomeGoods

faux flowers: Pottery Barn

faux greenery: Hobby Lobby

vintage clear frosted Vase: Omaha's Real Deals

"S" metal letter: Michaels

flower pot: Ross

I have discovered how difficult it is to photograph a mirrored piece... Being the sunroom with lots of light coming through all the windows, getting a decent pic without reflections was a lost cause... This was about as good as it got.

turquoise mirrored cabinet: Accent Prone

lamp: Tuesday Morning

We repurposed this table by sanding, staining, painting and waxing it to give it a unique look. We will eventually have this table along with 4 chairs (still in the process of redoing them) in the sunroom but for now, here's a sneak peek of the table. :) Learn how to redo and repurpose furniture on my Furniture Makeover page!

It's also perfect for an extra snack table when guests are in town.
